The road over the Geschriebenstein is the highest pass in Burgenland. The northern ascent from Lockenhaus is subjectively more beautiful, with a steep start, but then it is easy and evenly rideable. The asphalt is good, there is usually little traffic, and the descent to Rechnitz allows for high speeds - but be careful of the steep passage before entering the town.
