Since 2009, Ribbeck Castle, which was built in neo-baroque style as an extension of the "double-roof house" from Theodor Fontane's famous ballad, has been shining in its original splendor above the picturesque village ensemble of the former estate.

The lovingly restored Ribbeck Castle on Ribbeck in the Havelland region, with its pear tree made famous by Theodor Fontane, as well as the old Ribbeck Church, the rectory garden, and the Old School—who hasn't seen them? The administrator's house, located on the left between the palace and the workhouses, has clear baroque forms and is otherwise of course kept simple. A castle was first mentioned in Roskow near Brandenburg around 1650. The current two-story, three-wing complex was rebuilt between 1723 and 1727 for the von Katte family and then further rebuilt between 1880 and 1890. In the period after 1945, this baroque castle was first used by the Soviet occupation, then as refugee accommodation and finally by the community as a school building.
