This beautiful route is located between Montesquieu-des-Albéres and Villelongue-dels-Mons because it feels a bit lonely. At least there isn't much traffic here and that makes the route so appealing because you go through the forest here and when you get higher up you also have a great view of the region's plains.

The Serrat d'En Vaquer is a hill in Perpignan, in the French department of Pyrenees-Orientales. Overlooking the plain of Roussillon, it was chosen in the nineteenth century for the construction of a defense fortress against Spain. The construction has exposed a large paleontological site of the Pliocene. The location of the fortress is today a public park inviting to stay.
