Montepagano is a small historical village, the oldest hamlet of Roseto degli Abruzzi. It stands separate from the city, on a hill from which the view is enchanting, caressing the heights until it reaches the sea, shining and clear. The medieval heart of the village, which fascinates the traveller and transports him to a distant time, is its castle, perched and rich in works of art, a veritable treasure chest of great value. But the protagonists here are the flavours: on the hills surrounding the village, olive trees and vineyards are cultivated, yielding internationally renowned oil and wine. Located 253 meters above sea level in a beautiful position with a view of the Adriatic and in an area already inhabited in Roman times, it retains the typical medieval layout, modeled on the top of a hill, with towers and remains of walls.

Montepagano rises to 286 meters above sea level in the heart of the municipality of Roseto. It is a medieval castle enclosed within the walls and has had, over the centuries, three gates: Porta di Borea, Porta Santa Caterina and Porta da Piedi. Visitroseto.it
