Wonderful view of Lake Lugano :-)

From the Monte Brè Belvedere you can admire a grandiose view of the Ceresio Gulf, the Alps and Monte Rosa.

Thanks to its location between mountain and lake, its village center with its many arcades, its churches and chapels, and a park that is like a small paradise, Morcote deserves the title “Pearl of Ceresio”. It lies on the southern nose of the Arbostora peninsula. Once a fishing village, it soon became a popular place for artists and celebrities; magnificent buildings such as the Palazzo Paleari with its stucco facade or the Torre del Capitano bear witness to these times. Also known is the “monumental staircase”, which leads up around 400 steps to Santa Maria del Sasso - another must for Morcote visitors - from where there is a magnificent view. The adjacent cemetery is also in an enviable location and is considered an outstanding example of sacred funerary art. Morcote's exotic attraction is called “Parco Scherrer”. Subtropical vegetation and works of art from distant countries transport visitors to another world.

Insone is one of the hamlets of Valcolla, a small town surrounded by woods and reachable by roads that are not excessively busy.

Sala Capriasca a small municipality for which the first sources were found in the 1000s. It is located between Luganese and Valcolla, you can get there from both primary roads and more challenging secondary roads, the choice is yours.

On the heights of the more famous Morcote, Vico Morcote is in a beautiful panoramic position among woods and vineyards. The historic center of Vico Morcote is very well preserved and is characterized by narrow alleys and porticoes.

It can be reached easily even with road wheels, but from here on it is only advisable for MTB. Capanna Monte Bar is a refuge at 1600m with spectacular views of the Lugano pre-Alps, the perfect refreshment point before descending or you can also tie up your bike and go on beautiful excursions in the surrounding area.

Val Colla is a valley that is part of the municipality of Lugano. Politically, the towns of Bogno, Valcolla, Certara, Cimadera and Sonvico are part of the municipality of Lugano, but geographically they are well distant, as they are located at an altitude of 800 metres. The road that crosses Val Colla has little traffic and is shady, making it a true paradise for those who love cycling.
