There are always great views from the street

A low point on the tour. It was a Sunday and all the restaurants were packed. When I politely expressed my wish to be able to charge the battery in Spanish, we were literally thrown out. Spaniards drive long distances to eat out on Sundays. It has never happened to us that the battery was not allowed to be charged. Of course we would have eaten and drank. The whole place was almost entirely made up of holiday apartments, with the blinds down and totally dead without the lunch guests. No hotel, no guesthouse, but with a train station. Cheers to the Euskotren regional train in the Basque Country, on time, super helpful staff. So take the train back to Gernica!!!

Completely destroyed by the German Condor Legion in the Spanish Civil War. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luftkampf_auf_Guernica A well-worth seeing exhibition in the central square shows the horrors of the civil war. The Spanish spelling with "ue" probably goes back to Picasso.
