The statue with a statue of Mary Immaculata was created in 1777. The Mother of God stands on a globe and crushes a snake, her face turned towards St. Pölten. Because of the snake at her feet, the Marian column is popularly known as the "snake cross". From the hill near Kälberhart, pilgrims from St. Pölten have their first view of the Manker parish church, which is why a Marian column was erected here centuries ago. The Manker pilgrimage was created in the year of the plague in 1645. Statues, field and wayside crosses are silent symbols of Christian faith, and there are many reasons for their erection. They are often found on the side of the road - we often walk or drive past carelessly and lost in thought and do not actively notice the cross.

The late Gothic, three-aisled staggered church (from 1496) with net rib vaulting and remains of Gothic wall paintings is dedicated to Saint Lawrence. On August 5, 1905, the Rabenstein native and important Austrian cardinal DDr. Franz König received the holy sacrament of baptism in this church. The interior restoration took place in 2004.
