An absolute highlight that the Jura has to offer. A magnificent route!

The Plain-de-Saigne pond is a small artificial lake located in Montfaucon. It's a great place to picnic and admire the reflections of the sky and trees on the water. You can also learn about the history of the lake, which was once home to a mill and peat extraction site.

The mountain restaurant with a unique panorama The restaurant has been run by the current management since April 1, 2006. Karin and Roland Kilian skilfully set accents. With a variety of dishes, they stand behind an enjoyable cuisine and a gastronomy in which every guest feels comfortable. Is the focus on simpler mountain cuisine after a long hike or is it more a desire for a culinary flight of fancy... Roland Kilian, with his previously earned 16 points in the Gault Millau, is looking forward to the culinary balancing act. When the weather is good, you will find yourself at home in a world that is second to none! We will be retiring from 2024. Last opening day December 23rd, 2023. If you want to climb the Taubenloch Gorge from above, you can do so in Frinwillier. A sleepy little town where time has stood still. In front of the entrance to the gorge, it is worth making a detour to the Des Gorges restaurant. The house, which is rather modest from the outside, hides its true treasure behind its facade. A really pretty garden area with plenty of seating and a well-kept interior, which lovingly testifies to its historical origins, round off a visit. The food and dessert menu is impressive and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. It is the only restaurant in the gorge.

Very beautiful gorge, which ideally you drive uphill from Undervelier to Le Pihoux. So you can enjoy all the wonderful views and admire the imposing Jura rock formations.

The Étang de Plain de Saigne is located in the municipality of Montfaucon in the canton of Jura. It lies embedded in lush alpine meadows in a high moor area at an altitude of 860 meters above sea level. The pond is under nature protection.
