Pretty village, with a small picnic area, perfect for a lunch break

The birthplace of General Lafayette (who played a crucial role in the American War of Independence) is here in a tiny Auvergne village.

Very beautiful little ruin well highlighted, there is an incredible view of the sunset and picnic tables next to the castle.

Imposing building currently being restored by a team of enthusiasts. I think it can be visited (paying, to finance the restoration I imagine).

Bosbomparent Castle was built between the 13th and 15th centuries. It is a must-see of Brivadois heritage. Concerts and activities take place during the summer period in the castle.

This castle is definitely worth a visit. From this ancient fortress, you will have an incredible view of the village of Saint-Ilpize and Villeneuve d'Allier. Its strategic position allowed the Dauphins of Auvergne to monitor the Allier gorges.

At the crossroads of the Limagne plain and the slopes of Livradois, Auzon bears witness to its medieval remains, including certain historical monuments: a church, a castle and winding, cobbled streets. This small town between land and rocks is worth the detour.

If the ruins are not of incredible interest to visit, the breathtaking view of the valley from the castle is well worth the detour and the few drops of sweat on the climb.
