A fantastic outdoor swimming pool right on the Atlantic coast and the promenade of Puerto de la Cruz. Very clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended.

Among the well-preserved buildings in the old town is the Church of the Immaculate Conception from the colonial era. The 18th-century Palacio de Carta exhibits Baroque and Neoclassical influences. The former civil hospital houses the Museum of Nature and Man, featuring interactive exhibits on the Canary Islands. One of the city's squares is the centrally located Plaza de España.

The dam was built to irrigate the banana plantations and vegetable gardens in the gorge. Construction began in 1914, but was delayed by World War II and completed in 1926. During the heavy rains in October 2014, the reservoir even overflowed.
