The hotel is a wonderful starting point for hikes. Several hiking trails run past the hotel and the adjacent restaurant. The adjacent parking lot can also be used as a hiking parking space (for a fee).

This is a Norwegian “sæter” – a traditional alpine or summer hut, typically used in the forests or mountains.

The cabin belongs to the DNT Oslo og Omegn organization, the Oslo and surrounding area branch of the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT). DNT operates a network of hikers' cabins (called "turisthytter") throughout Norway, some of which are staffed and some of which are unmanned. The "Jørgenhytta" is one of these cabins. Its style, with its dark wooden facade and green-painted windows, is typical of many DNT cabins.

A beautiful, small, well-maintained campsite. There's a kiosk/bistro with a beer garden. Pizza and burgers are available. If you're not bringing a campervan, you can rent tents or cabins for 2-6 people.

Really cool hut. You can rent the hut. It's definitely interesting for long-distance hikes.

A very cozy hut, unfortunately it was closed when we were there. But I imagine it's open during peak season, so you might want to do some research on that.

There is also a swing on the old tree, but it won't be able to bear any weight anymore 🤭

This peaceful campsite along the trail to Mørkgonga and Gyrihaugen is a perfect spot to rest and enjoy nature. It;s big enough for a few tents.
