From Rapallo, you can reach Portofino by car or public bus. We cycled along the coast. The view is very beautiful. Portofino is a small peninsula with a harbor town and can only be reached on foot. The chapel and the castle are worth a visit. If you're interested, you can walk to the tip of the small island and have something to eat or drink at the lighthouse.

Roccatagliata has an ancient history, which begins in pre-Roman times, when the area was certainly inhabited by Ligurians. After the Roman period, Roccatagliata was occupied by the Lombards. During the Middle Ages it was a fiefdom of the Fieschi family. The construction of a castle dates back to this period, of which the ruins remain on the hill above the village (today the area is an archaeological park). The importance of Roccatagliata was linked to the fact that it was located on a route very frequented by caravans of merchants who headed from the coast towards the Po Valley. Every year on the day of San Lorenzo a medieval festival takes place, in which the inhabitants of the village dress in period clothing to recall the period in which Roccatagliata was a village of great importance.
