If the terrain allows it, there is a single track that goes around the pond: stop, hidden in silence, to watch the birds and insects 😀

Part of the GiraLemene cycle itinerary, this segment runs alongside the fishermen's quarries of Maranghetto and reaches Sindacale crossing the Bosco delle Lame, the most beautiful and significant example of a lowland forest in Eastern Veneto. The Bosco delle Lame occupies an area of approximately 33 hectares and includes a vast agricultural reclamation area (in which an important afforestation work was carried out between 1997 and 1999) and a more recent wetland of 8 hectares. Tall maples, ash trees, hornbeams, alders, white and black poplars make those who visit this forest forget the fact that they are among one of the largest agricultural areas in the Veneto. Here it is not uncommon to spot squirrels, hares, foxes, pheasants, marsh harriers, swans and roe deer. Furthermore, there are as many as 300 species that nest in this area, considered one of the most important repopulation areas in the Veneto. In 2021, the Municipality of Concordia Sagittaria (VE), thanks to the "Eastern Venice: the widespread forest" project, started the process for a massive expansion of the forest near Sindacale with a further 3 hectares and 5,000 plants.

Laguna del Mort is a lagoon with sea water, located in the Veneto region, along the coast of the Upper Northern Adriatic, north-east of the Venice lagoon. About half a meter deep on average, with the maximum depth not exceeding 2 m, it is contiguous to the last branch of the mouth of the Piave and sees the border between the coastal municipalities of Jesolo and Eraclea run along its axis.

Beautiful nature reserves, there is a lot to discover and marvel at. Some bike and hiking trails cross the area, so nothing stands in the way of a tour of discovery.

Laguna del Morto Beach is one of the rare stretches of the non-urbanized Venetian coast, located in the last arm of the mouth of the Piave on the border between the towns of Jesolo and Eraclea. In 2003 the peninsula that separates the Laguna del Mort from the sea, together with its beach, was declared by Legambiente one of the 13 most beautiful beaches in Italy. The dead branch of the Piave goes out into the sea right in front of Eraclea Mare, in front of the tourist port.

The Mort Lagoon is the most characteristic element, from an environmental point of view, of the Eraclea coast, along the coast of the northern Upper Adriatic. This seawater lagoon, separated from the open waters, is characterized by shallow, sandy seabeds rich in phytoplankton, where mussels, clams, oysters, crabs, mullet, plaice and sole live. Until 1935 the Mort Lagoon was nothing more than the last stretch of the Piave river, which ran perpendicular to the coastline before flowing into the open sea. At the height of a particular flood, the Piave broke its banks, abandoning the old riverbed and opening its way to flow into its current Cortellazzo estuary. This last excerpt therefore became devoid of tributaries and was filled only by the rising tide, transforming into a small lagoon of considerable environmental and faunal interest. The progressive silting of the body of water allows you to cross the mouth of the Mort at low tide and visit the south-eastern shore located in the municipality of Jesolo. The north-west side of the lagoon, called Valle Ossi, falls entirely within the municipality of Eraclea and is covered by a pine forest still devoid of tourist settlements and uncontaminated.

The Laguna del Mort is a lagoon with sea water, located in the Veneto, along the coast of the northern Adriatic, northeast of the lagoon of Venice. It adjoins the last arm of the mouth of the river Piave. The average depth is about half a meter, the maximum is a maximum of 2 m. Until October 5, 1935, the Laguna del Mort was nothing but the last section of the river and its mouth. At that time, the river Piave was perpendicular to the coastline to a few hundred meters from the Adriatic Sea. When he reached the village of Cortellazzo, the river turned diagonally to the left and ran about 3 km perpendicular to its origin, in its place it emptied into the Adriatic Sea. On that day, at the height of a special flood, the Piave broke the right bank just where it turned to the northeast, and immediately plunged into the sea, leaving the old river bed, and sealing off the sand and mud dump the connection between this and the river itself. This last part of the Piave was therefore free of freshwater inflows and was only filled by the rising tide. Over time, the dead branch of the Piave River has partially buried itself and has become the natural habitat of hundreds of marine and lagoon birds. This particular context was also favored by the particular state of isolation, which isolates the area around the lagoon from the surrounding countryside, since it is bordered by three watercourses: the Piave River in the southwest, Livenza in the northeast, and the navigable Revedoli Canal in the west ,
