Mount Lofty is the highest point in the Mount Lofty Ranges and offers sweeping panoramic views across the city of Adelaide and the coastline of Gulf St Vincent. The summit features a well-known lookout, visitor facilities, and access to walking trails that pass through native bushland in the surrounding hills. Its elevated vantage point makes it one of the most popular viewpoints in the Adelaide Hills and a highlight of many nearby hiking routes.

Great Hike for elevation training. Walking up the fire track, then the short track up to the Summit. Beautiful at the top, with a nice little picnic area with tables and seating, with great views. Walk up the extra to the trig point (compass).

This tower was erected on the summit of Mount Gambier to commemorate the sighting and naming of the mountain by Lieutenant James Grant from the brig The Lady Nelson on 3 December 1800. You'll be able to see the beautiful lake on the way to up.

Short but steep incline from McElligott‘s car park. Not as busy as Mt. Lofty (and not as high). Mainly locals.

If you can, go there by bike via Old Mt. Barker Road (hardly any traffic).
