At Lenzen Castle, you can not only get valuable information from the BUND (German Environmental Foundation) on the Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve, the Green Belt, and much more. In the castle restaurant, you can also enjoy fantastic cakes and coffee until 5:00 PM. A quick glance at the menu will probably whet your appetite for dinner in the evening. Reservations are recommended, though.

The driveway to the deserted area can be reached via the former patrol road, along the green belt, coming from Kriwitz or Prezier. A very challenging route for cyclists. It is easier to hike this route. You will be compensated for the demanding route with the view over wide meadow areas and the voices of nature.

The dungeon and a torture chamber are located in the tower. Both are accessible. The torture chamber can be found behind the door with the coat of arms. There you can still see the irons to which the delinquents were tied. Slightly scary character.

Jahrsau is one of the villages on the former inner-German border, which was finally abolished in 1970. Even today you can find a circular route through the razed village, where you can still see the remains of the village today. Through the remains of the wall you can still see where the buildings were located. A place steeped in history that encourages reflection.
