These cliff edges are located between Nienhagen and Börgerende! Be careful when passing them! Hold onto children!

Swimming is permitted. However, caution is also advised: the cliff is constantly affected by collapses, landslides and rockfalls, especially after heavy rainfall, frost, storms or floods. For your own safety, the information and warning signs should be respected and observed. The shore recedes by around 25 cm every year. As a result, sand from the sea has to be transported to the coast again and again.

The steep coast in Nienhagen - consisting of ice age deposits - is a defining feature of the state-approved seaside resort and is therefore subject to strict protection conditions. Along the steep bank there are beach sections with fine sand that are ideal for swimming. 🏄⛵

The path begins directly after the end of the Warnemünde beach promenade and leads through a forest along the cliffs.

Whether along the beach with a view of the Baltic Sea and coastal forest or above the beach through the coastal forest, it is always worth a hike.

It is advisable to be careful in wet weather and storms, as parts of the front edge of the cliffs often break off, which can also be seen in the form of landslides.
