Built between 1583 and 1587, it is the oldest model of Salvador's defense system during the Brazilian colonial period. Later reforms (1654 and 1742) did not significantly alter its original features. A beautiful place to admire the beach or the Bahia skyline, or to enjoy the sunset.

The fort which can be visited was closed when we went there, but nevertheless it is worth the detour because it is very beautiful.
