One of the most beautiful parts of the Tour du Mont Blanc. The landscapes change from day to day - best in spring with mountain blossoms or early fall with golden light.
The Giffre des Fonts is a tributary of the Giffre. Here you can admire the gorges it creates in the middle of the rocks, on a wooden bridge which brings even more charm to the setting.
Hard to believe the village of Saint Gervais sits this close to the deep cliffs with roaring waters at the bottom. The path down to this viewpoint is well kept but steep and often muddy/slippery — mind your step!
You can descend into the canyon via a small path next to the church and reach the other side of the village via the small bridge. The Saint Gervais hydroelectric power station is also down here.
