The rooms within the old walls have been skillfully designed in a modern style, creating a cozy atmosphere. There are various room sizes (double, family, four-, and six-bed rooms), a restaurant, and as a guest, you can even visit the castle museum for free. Burgdorf Castle is a nice destination for a picnic with a perfect view of Burgdorf, but you have to work for the view first!

Burgdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1175 and goes back to the Zähringer family. The beautiful old town and the castle on the rock spur cannot deny their relationship with Bern, Fribourg, Thun, but also Freiburg im Breisgau.
