The SAC hut is located on the approximately 12-kilometer-long ridge trail from Chasseral to Frinvillier. It's practically always open on weekends. Soup with sausage or coffee with cake are traditional offerings here.

The mountain restaurant with a unique panorama The restaurant has been run by the current management since April 1, 2006. Karin and Roland Kilian skilfully set accents. With a variety of dishes, they stand behind an enjoyable cuisine and a gastronomy in which every guest feels comfortable. Is the focus on simpler mountain cuisine after a long hike or is it more a desire for a culinary flight of fancy... Roland Kilian, with his previously earned 16 points in the Gault Millau, is looking forward to the culinary balancing act. When the weather is good, you will find yourself at home in a world that is second to none! We will be retiring from 2024. Last opening day December 23rd, 2023. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our guests for their loyalty over the years. We wish our (as yet unknown) successors only the best. Expected reopening May/June 2024. The Metairie de Prêles is a simple restaurant in a farm. Inconspicuous, but with an interesting menu for hikers, bikers and other Otudoor enthusiasts. Of course, you can also just have a drink or eat one of the delicious homemade cakes. The right place to take a break from hiking before starting the long way back to the parking lot.
