This is an awesome spot for a load of outdoor activities, and this section of dirt road is perfect for walking, running, biking, and backs up to a campground. The lake features mountain panoramas on all sides with the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness towering to the east.

The Beaver Ponds at the top of Beaver Ponds Trail are a group of small alpine lakes that are full of fish in the warm seasons. You'll get a lot of solitude running on this trail, which isn't super far or super steep. The majority of the trail passes through an aspen forest that can be especially beautiful when the colors change in the fall.
