This 385-acre land, once a dairy site, now features soccer fields, baseball fields, a community center, and pickleball courts. There are also miles of hiking trails that take you along the waterfront of the three ponds on the property.

This trail loops around Lake Dumont, providing you with a waterfront view throughout the journey. There are ample opportunities to see wildlife, and you might even come across some berry bushes along the path.

The Sawmill Slough Preserve serves as a home to public trails as well as the campus trails for the University of North Florida. The trails are only open to foot-traffic (no dogs and no bikes), and they are easy to navigate. They can be overgrown at times, but there have been recent efforts to keep the trails in better condition by different volunteer organizations.
