Kollen Park is just a hop, skip and a jump from Downtown Holland on the shores of Lake Macatawa. One of Holland's most beautiful recreational parks, it features a boat launch and fishing off the boardwalk, along with a playground and picnic shelter. holland.org/things-do/kids/kollen-park-heinz-waterfront-walkway

The Lakeshore Trail is a really popular paved path following Lakeshore Drive. Being away from car traffic, the trail is a great choice for a bike ride and offers views of the coast and the wetland areas on the eastern side of the highway.

Grand Haven City Beach is a wide, sandy beach on the coast of Grand Haven. The beach runs into Grand Haven State Park, which offers a lot of amenities on the shores of the beach. The views from the shore are as good of a reason to take a break here as anything.
