For me, this place is a piece of paradise on the Camino. Take a short break in the shade. Enjoy some of the delicacies (fruit, eggs, cake, etc.). In this atmosphere, it's easy to relax, rejuvenate, and move on more easily (and happier).

We stopped by in really gloomy weather. It was a welcome spot to warm up by the fireplace. I had the best hot chocolate ever.

It belongs to the municipality of Santa Marina del Rey and is located near the Órbigo River, which gives it its name. This area is known for its rural landscapes and its proximity to the Vía de la Plata and the Camino de Santiago, which makes it a point of interest for pilgrims.

A welcome place in the middle of the wilderness to take a breather and maybe refreshments, especially if the weather is inclement!

Albergue San Javier is a private hostel exclusively for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago with a credential, located in Astorga, in the historic center of the city, very close to the Cathedral and the route of the Camino Francés. Opened in 2003, it is set in an 18th-century house with a courtyard with a pond.

The Los Templarios pilgrim refuge is located in Manjarín, a tiny mountain enclave on the French Way. This hostel is one of the most peculiar and well-known on the route. It is managed by Tomás Martínez, a hospitaler and former pilgrim who felt the Templar call during a stay in Ponferrada. Although it does not offer luxurious amenities (it has no bathrooms or showers), it is an energetic place where pilgrims can rest and pray three times a day. A light that illuminates and welcomes you in the middle of the road! 🚶‍♂️🌟
