Birdwatching hut De Pluus offers a beautiful view over the unique raised bog landscape of the Engbertsdijksvenen. From here you can spot numerous bird species, such as the crane and the bluethroat, while looking out over vast fens and open heathlands. The peaceful surroundings and rich wildlife make this an ideal place for nature lovers and a perfect starting point for a walk through this protected Natura 2000 area.

Next to the large sheep barn, there is information and drinks available on the weekend.

Twilhaar nature camping site is located on the Sallandse Heuvelrug and is absolutely worthy of the name natural camping site. Completely hidden in the green, you can camp or bivouac here in peace. There are opportunities to build a campfire and even camp in one of the wooden shelters on the site. There is also a neat toilet building and a friendly manager.
