Valkenhorst is also one of Brabant's bird paradises. However, it hasn't been that for very long. In the past, falcons were caught here. The heathlands were ideally suited for this. After being trained, the birds were sold to noble courts at home and abroad. Valkenswaard was internationally famous for this. Information panel provides detailed explanation.
