This Veluwe shelter is a half open hut, quite spacious and covered. Inside the hut are 2 large long tables with long benches. Good place to shelter from the rain, but also to squeeze the brakes on a nice day to make a cup of coffee or just relax. PS. obvious, but wild camping is prohibited here just like in the rest of the Dutch nature.

Close to the entrance to Park Hoge Veluwe

Here we see a rebuilt turf hut that could be found here in the 19th century. These turf huts were spread throughout this area and were inhabited by the poorest workers. A turf hut was a simple structure, usually partially excavated and without side walls so that the roof started at ground level. The roof was covered with sods brought from the surrounding land.

On this beautiful campsite there is a separate field for trekkers in the forest 👍 Here you can camp really close to nature or spend the night in a hammock.
