The Arnóia River rises in the Serra de Todo o Mundo and flows for 30 km before flowing into the Óbidos Lagoon. A dam was built about one and a half kilometres from Óbidos, in the Horta Valley, whose reservoir was used to irrigate the area's crops.

Surrounded by beautiful and abundant trees, it is a bridge with a Romanesque arch. There are several theories regarding its construction; some argue that it was built during the reign of D. João II, in order to facilitate the King's movement when he went to meet Queen D. Leonor for a swim in Caldas, while others claim that it was built in the 19th century due to a technical issue, namely its width. Interestingly, this bridge supports two enormous pine trees at the top of the road.

Opened in 2005, this dam never fully served the purposes for which it was created. After recent works (2022/2023), it is now expected that it will be able to serve farmers in the region with water for irrigation and even be used for leisure purposes. The surrounding region has interesting paths for mountain biking or gravel cycling.
