Pitkäjärvi is a serene stretch of water nestled in the Finnish landscape, surrounded by dense pine and birch forests. Its calm surface mirrors the sky, offering a perfect escape for nature lovers seeking quiet. Close to this point, you can also find a small shelter to enjoy Finland’s wilderness.

There are small wooden huts like this everywhere in Hossa National Park with fireplaces, seating and dry toilets. With a great view of the water, you can take a break there or even stay overnight for free. You can find firewood right next to the hut.

Make your way to Lehmilammen Kota, a cozy wilderness hut located by the peaceful Lehmilampi Lake. Surrounded by tranquil forests, you can take a break during your hike here at this sheltered spot—offering you a perfect place to enjoy a warm fire in the hut, or stay outside to take in the serenity of the lake and the surrounding woods. It’s a great place to relax, soak in nature, and recharge before continuing your journey.

With a shelter, woodshed, pier and fire pit this is a great picnic site option around the Huosilampi Pond.

Beautiful shelter with benches around a fire pit. There is also some wood available. You can jump into the lake right next to it.

Impressive, I have rarely seen anything like it at home, except for the Ludwig Ganghofer Hut near Bonstetten, which, however, has no lake.
