Lake Vesijärvi is a large and scenic lake located next to the city of Lahti, offering excellent opportunities for cycling, swimming, and nature observation. Its well-maintained shores feature several beaches, parks, and cycling paths, including routes that connect to the Vääksy Canal and nearby nature reserves. The lake has a rich ecological history and has been a model site for water restoration projects in Finland. Cyclists can enjoy flat, easy terrain around the lake with good access to services and rest areas.

Möysä beach, located on the western shore of Lake Joutjärvi, is a well-equipped and easily accessible beach just a 15–20 minute walk from Lahti city centre. It features a clean sandy shoreline, two piers, a volleyball court, grassy areas, and a playground, making it ideal for a longer stop or family outing. The beach has changing rooms and toilet facilities, and lifeguards are on duty daily from 10:00 to 16:00 during the school summer holidays. Cyclists can reach the area easily and safely, and there’s space nearby to park and lock bikes.

Mukkula Manor Park beach is one of Lahti’s most popular spots for summer activities, located just 4 km from the city centre. The fine sandy beach is great for swimming and ball games, while the nearby grassy slopes are perfect for relaxing in the sun. Cyclists will appreciate the easy access via local roads or public transport, with bike-friendly paths leading to the area. There are several kiosks and cafés around, and the historic manor house adds charm to the setting. It’s a comfortable stop for a break, with no special equipment needed beyond a bike lock and swimwear.
