The old wooden diving board (see first photo) has since been replaced with a new steel one. Personally, I prefer the wooden one. The beach hasn't lost any of its luster, and changing rooms are also located nearby.

A very new and beautiful rest area right on the eastern shore of the lake. In addition to seating, there's a fire pit and a very new shelter. Absolutely fantastic views of the ruins to the northwest.

Sandsjön is a beautiful lake. Even tho it was raining on me it was a sight to behold. With several good spots for camping with both tent and a campervan. I passed several tourists camping on my way through.
