Gimodammen was historically created by the construction of artficial dams to the south and east, raising the level of a small natural lake and supplying water power for the use of the Gimo ironmill. The shallow northern part contains floating islands and submerged tree trunks, making it difficult to navigate. Until the mid-20th century the lake was also used for driving logs from the surrounding forests to the furnaces of the ironmill. There is a public beach area on the eastern side and a well-maintained hiking trail around the lake.

An interesting structure built out of wooden poles. Likely used as a marker for those travelling on the lake.

nice camping, pretty cheap, good space for tents.

Full of Moskitos and cows/cow shit.

Nice little campsite, service building very clean. The lake invites you to swim, you can eat and shop in the village.

There's a fireplace and a birdwatching tower here. There's also a parking spot for cars available.

Small beach and camping area with great view. Toilets are free to use. There is a small kiosk on the beach.
