The Bynäset peninsula is also called the “Östersund Riviera”. The area, which is now particularly protected, used to be a military zone. Today you can go around the peninsula on a circular route. In the north you will find a long, black sand beach and open grass areas that invite you to linger and picnic. On warm days you can cool off with a dip in the cool water of Storsjön.

On rooty forest paths you walk between pine trees and the shore zone and always catch beautiful views of the lake. Along the way you will always find great resting places and bathing spots.

From the small headland you have a wonderful view of the mighty Storsjön. Here you can let the wind blow around your nose and switch off completely.
