It's a beautiful bike ride. Plenty of parking is available (fee applies). Nearby is the Egg swimming pool, with a snack stand (sausage and sandwiches). The Greifensee and Lützelsee lakes are 48 km away, and are also suitable for children.

The Sternenweiher is a reservoir in the municipality of Richterswil in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It lies north-east of Sonntagern and drains into Lake Zurich via the Mülibach. According to the national map, its tributary is called Miesbach.[1] In 1873, the silk manufacturer Rudolf Zinggeler-Syfrig received the rights to use the Mülibach to drive the machines in his Zinggeler AG silk mill. Above Richterswil, the star pond was created by damming the Mülibach. A two-kilometre-long pressure pipe carried the water down to Lake Zurich, where it drove a water turbine in Zinggeler's factory. For amusement and as a symbol of industrialization, from 1875 onwards the manufacturer let the water rise through a nozzle on holidays such as August 1st: A fountain was created with a height of 80 to 85 meters. This fountain was long considered the highest on the continent. In 1972 the power plant was shut down and with it the fountain.[2] The fountain, which was restored by the Richterswil Historical Fountains Association, which was founded in 2003, was put back into operation in 2007. Today it sprays up to 101 m high. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starnweiher Easy to reach by bike (asphalt). Starting point for tours in all directions. Restaurant "Star Lake" 100 m away.

Pfäffikersee circular route no. 890 The popular circular route around Pfäffikersee in the Zurich Oberland leads through unique nature with typical moor plants, past the romantic farming village of Seegräben and back to the vibrant lake promenade of Pfäffikon ZH. The starting point is Pfäffikon ZH, where you are just a stone's throw away in the middle of an enchanting lakeside landscape. A comfortable path leads past high reed belts and magnificent moor landscapes, which provide a habitat for countless animal and plant species. On the way, you can catch a particularly attractive view of the nature reserve on pretty wooden walkways. A special eye-catcher is the farming village of Seegräben, which can be seen gently embedded in the intact nature. With the half-timbered houses typical of the region, the place offers a romantic view and transports the viewer back to earlier times. The wide meadows sway peacefully in the wind and on the lake side the variety of aquatic plants and native animals is impressive. For a relaxing break, there are both cosy places in nature and restaurants along the route. A detour to the signposted adventure farm is also worthwhile. After the village of Auslikon, the stately Roman fort appears on the horizon as another eye-catcher before you reach Pfäffikon ZH again - showered with the natural experience. The "cycle path" around the Greifensee is quite narrow and is populated by inline skaters, slow cyclists with child trailers and even walkers. In my opinion, the path used in oncoming traffic (!) is not a suitable training slope for racing cyclists, it is far too dangerous to want to ride there at "full speed"!
