Incredibly great panoramic view of Lake Zurich/Obersee. Every effort that this small but beautiful mountain requires is worth it! What is also great is that the Bachtel can be reached via various routes. Even though the view from the mountain is already great, the observation tower should definitely be climbed. A head for heights is an advantage. However, since you can't see the ground below because of the steps and the plateaus, it is also relatively suitable for those who are not afraid of heights (I can report this from my husband's experience) When I'm in the area again, I'll hike up the Bachtel again using a different route.

Nice, old station concourse to start or end hikes in the area. Also with shops (Denner until evening, Volg around the corner even until 10 p.m.)

Definitely not suitable for MTB unless you are a very courageous and good rider. The piece is very steep and has little space for a bike.

The view is actually somewhat restricted, as Ernst noted in 2016, as there is forest to the left and right of the summit and behind it. The “window” visible from the bench is very nice: you can look far across the Tösstal and directly over to the Hörnli.

Comprehensive view from the Bachtel and especially from the Bachtel Tower. Lots of hiking trails and two trail runs. Restaurant with a nice terrace. If closed: 2 toilets available outside the house.
