The valley is also classified as ZNIEFF (natural zone of ecological, fauna and flora interest), which means that it is a natural space considered remarkable. The Consolation site itself is also known for its monastery, viewpoints, waterfalls and botanical gardens.

Steep and technically very demanding trail down to the Doubs - but very spectacular and visually an absolutely great experience. Estimated S3-4. The gorge is very wet in places and therefore very slippery with stony spots and roots. There are also some hairpin bends. Most of you probably don't have to drive the whole route, and from time to time you have to climb better in very narrow and steep areas. Nevertheless, a very great landscape experience that should not be missed.
