La Mare à Poule d'Eau is a small, calm oasis located in the center of the Salazie cirque. It is set in a remarkable green setting. The surface of the body of water is largely covered with chouchou and casuarina trees. It is possible to fish there and go around it entirely.

The small lake is the namesake of the adjacent town and recreational area of the locals.
