April 2025: The main house is currently being rebuilt after a fire in November 2024, so no catering will likely take place until the end of 2025. We recommend the holiday apartment above the donkey stable (pleasantly warm in April...).

Looked very run down and neglected in September 2024. The animals run around freely, including a large dog.

This small, unguarded shelter, called the Salley refuge or Luthier's chalet, has everything a hiker could want: shelter at night; an idyllic setting at Ballon de Servance; a magnificent view of the Ballon d'Alsace; a charming little fountain; and even a stele in memory of American soldiers of the Cold War for the historical aspect.

Take advantage of this shelter, semi-open, ideally placed. It is equipped with a bench and an outdoor fireplace. You can picnic there protected from the wind and rain. Superb panorama as a bonus.

The refuge has everything you need: source of drinking water, shelter from the rain, location for campfires. It is an unguarded refuge for which there is no need to reserve.

At the local tourist office in Melisey, flyers for various hiking tours in the area are available as well as a good overview map. The flyers and other material for cyclists and hikers are also available in the accommodation.

Small campsite with guest rooms under Dutch management; Several hours to several days tours with donkey are possible from here. Lots of cats, chickens, goats (goat cheese production), peacocks and other animals; Small shop with organic vegetables, homemade juice, eggs, etc. In the high season also draft beer from the region!
