The heavy footsteps of the knights of yesteryear can still be heard in this 12th century citadel. Several places can be visited including the castle and the maze formed by its charming alleys in golden stone, typical of Périgord.
After the first bend going up the hill between Lacave and Rocamadour, we discover a small barn and a magnificent view of the castle of Belcastel which overlooks the Dordogne.
Start from the north! Serious steep in the beginning, narrow roads through the village, after that little less steep gravel climb. The descent is tarmac, not so good.
