Beautiful lake located in the immediate vicinity of the old Mettlach Monastery. Swimming is prohibited here, but the water isn't particularly inviting either. The benches along the shore invite you to linger and relax.

The Blättelborn is one of the leisure oases in the city of Merzig. Numerous waterfowl live at the Blättelbornweiher, an old arm of the Saar that has now been renatured. Right next to it is a small, freely accessible zoo.
