Grossmünster, Zurich's landmark The Grossmünster is a Romanesque church in the old town of Zurich, built between 1100 and 1220. The first altar consecration was in 1104 for the crypt and in 1107 for the choir. The final consecration took place in 1117 by Archbishop Bruno of Trier. Until the Reformation, the Grossmünster was both part of a secular canons' foundation and a parish church; the church's patron saints were Felix and Regula and Exuperantius. The graves with the relics of the first two, who are also considered the city's patron saints, were in the Twelve Apostles Chapel on the site of the current staircase. The Grossmünster parish was the starting point of the Reformation by Huldrych Zwingli in 1522-1525, and today the Grossmünster serves as the parish church of the Evangelical Reformed Church. The Grossmünster, along with the Fraumünster and St. Peter's Church, is one of the most famous churches in the city of Zurich. The characteristic twin towers with their neo-Gothic spires from 1787 are the city's real landmark. Text / Source: Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grossm%C3%BCnster
