It is a ruined fortress and a site of national importance. The ruins are surrounded by water, they can still be accessed by a footpath. The fortress was built in the 14th century.

Bossey Castle is home to the Bossey Ecumenical Institute (Institut oecuménique de Bossey), a training facility of the Church's Ecumenical Council. A truly picturesque town on the shore of Lake Geneva at the mouth of the Greny creek. This beautiful area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. Coppet impresses with a medieval townscape with ornate houses from the 16th century. The church and the castle, completed in 1767, are also worth seeing. Be sure to visit the magnificent interiors and the palace gardens!
