The Daur hut is a popular destination. It was built by the Lörrach Black Forest Association as a shelter. For many years it was the venue of the popular forest festival of the Ötlinger choral society and a forest service of the Ötlingen evangelical community still takes place there on Ascension Day.

The Daur Hut was built in 1925 by the Lörrach Black Forest Association as a refuge directly on the Westweg. The hut is named after the painter Hermann Daur, who was born in Lörrach in 1870 and lived in Ötlingen until 1925. After a fire in 1980, the permanent hut with barbecue area was restored by the city of Weil.
