Truly splendid. A must-see and don't hesitate to make the short detour to see it fall into the valley.

Just before reaching it, there's a viewing platform (short detour to the left). A little further on, there's a warning sign where you can cut through the undergrowth to the left and see the waterfall from the side. ⚠️ Life-threatening! Only in dry conditions and for adults only!

Usually no water included. Not a particular highlight on the entire tour. You're used to something different from La Reunion. 🤣🤣

If you stand below the large boulders, the path goes up to the left, so that you can reach the entrance of the cave via a short climb.

At 115 metres high, this footbridge overlooks the Bras de la Plaine. Suspended in the middle of the gorge, you get a magnificent view of the steep landscape that the river has shaped over time.

The official and well-marked hiking trail ends in the riverbed about 300m before La Chapelle. From there you have to explore the path through the stones and rocks on your own. You cross the river at least 4 times. Don't forget your bathing suit, in order to "go" deeper into the chapel you have to swim.

The Calumets ravine flows between Bras Sec and Palmiste rouge at the foot of the impressive rampart which marks the limit of the Cirque de Cilaos.

La Chapelle is one of the geological curiosities of the Cirque de Cilaos. Its natural shape resembles a cathedral made up of huge rocks that meet under which flows a waterfall creating a basin.
