The ancient Carmanxel Tower (17th-19th centuries) is now used as a municipal shelter for hikers on the GR 11 and pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. To sleep here, you must register with the local police, where you can pick up the keys. You must bring a mat and sleeping bag. Restrooms and water are located outside.

An easy and pleasant hike, just plan to get your shoes wet as there are two water crossings. From the castle, there's no need to go back as a path leads down to the river and takes you back on the way back.

Barracas are stone huts built using dry stone walling technology. This type of construction is very common in the area between Llers and Avinyonet de Puigventós and is linked to the agricultural and demographic expansion in the 18th century, when the Rocabertís, the lords of the place, ceded part of the wasteland to the townspeople for cultivation of vines and olive trees.

A very nice refuge for about 8-10 people

The chapel or hermitage is mentioned as early as 1279. During the French religious struggles, a group of Huguenots assassinated the hermit and destroyed (chopped up the Virgin). In 1640 a new alabaster image was sculpted. The old hermit's house and inn are at noon, sheltered from the north winds; this, built in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, operates in the summer and part of the buildings are intended as a refuge for the Center Excursionista Empordanès de Figueres. The neighborhood of Les Salines of scattered farmhouses is located on the slopes of the mountain with a population of approximately 40 residents.

This sanctuary is a set of terraced buildings, consisting of the chapel, the inn, the shelter and the courtyard. The church, of small dimensions, is of a ship of pointed vault, followed and ringed; with semicircular apse, facing west. Another was added behind the apse; also semicircular, which serves as a sacristy. The frontispiece has a semicircular arch with a voussoir. The date 1687 and the initials JVR are engraved on the keystone of its arch. Above the façade rises the small single-arched bell tower. On the south wall of the nave, there is another door, Romanesque, with a docellage, with an arch that forms a gradation. The eardrum is filled with ashlar. The abyss corresponds to an almost total reform of the sanctuary at the end of the seventeenth century. Much of the inn was also built in the late 17th century.

La Mare de Déu de les Salines is a sanctuary south of Puig de les Salines, at the northern end of the municipality of Maçanet de Cabrenys, 15 km from the town center, included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
