Dominikus Stone The Dominikus Stone stands in the Krommenthal Forest. Not far from it, in 1878, a farmer from Neuhütten, Dominikus Stenger, was caught by a forester while illegally collecting leaves. During the ensuing argument, the forester shot Dominikus Stenger in self-defense. His wife found his body lying over a rake and scythe. This field monument originally stood at the edge of a spruce thicket, where it was torn out and damaged during logging operations. It was restored and repositioned in 2001. A stone cross was initially placed on the stone, but this soon disappeared. The wrought iron cross on the globe now in place comes from the former Stations of the Cross around the Neuhütten Church. It now costs €15. Still a great idea. We need more of these...

The Würzburg–Aschaffenburg railway, also Main-Spessart-Bahn, is a double-track, electrified main line in Bavaria. It runs from Würzburg main station via Gemünden (Main) to Aschaffenburg main station. Its importance lies above all in long-distance and freight traffic, as it connects the Rhine-Main conurbation with the Lower Franconian upper center of Würzburg and beyond that with Nuremberg and Munich and in the direction of Austria and Italy. The name comes from the course of the railway line parallel to the Main and through the Spessart. track building: The route was licensed by law of May 23, 1846. When the route was opened by the Royal Bavarian State Railways on October 1, 1854, the Main-Spessart-Bahn was part of the Bavarian Ludwigs-West-Bahn from Bamberg via Schweinfurt and Würzburg to Aschaffenburg to the state border at that time with the Electorate of Hesse between Kahl am Main and Grosskrotzenburg.
