Located near the UNESCO World Heritage Altamira Caves, this center explores the lives of its early inhabitants. The Altamira National Museum and Research Center, located near the Altamira Caves, is an important place to learn and experience cave art, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This museum offers visitors a unique educational experience about the lives of the region's first inhabitants. The Neok Cave is a faithful replica of the original cave, designed to preserve the ancient paintings. Guided tours are highly recommended to maximize the experience, with guides providing detailed and entertaining explanations. Entry is free on Sundays, although there can be long queues, so arriving early is advised. The natural environment surrounding the museum is enchanting and makes the experience even more enjoyable.

A very interesting and familiar place. I tried to get to the Sumidero de las Palomas, but it was impossible for me to get there, I would have needed not some walking sticks, but a machete!

Magnificent beach that you pass by if you are doing a tour of the Costa Quebrada. You can come perfectly from Arnía beach.

The set of the Cuevas del Monte Castillo in Puente Viesgo is undoubtedly one of the greatest exponents of Rock Art in Spain. It is a set of four cavities with Paleolithic rock art, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008. Of the four, two are open to the public: El Castillo and Las Monedas. You can buy tickets at cuevas.culturadecantabria.com

Divided into the west and east beaches, their name comes from the caves found on the islet that divides them. A very popular beach in summer although it offers an ideal escape at any time of the year.

The recreational area of Fuente de las Palomas del Monte Dobra has been rehabilitated a large area with picnic tables to spend the day, around the Fuente de las Palomas, which was actually an old watering hole in which a multitude of amphibians now grow and that was formerly a depression in the land where cattle used to go to drink. Within the recreational area there is also a sink that leads to a cave, which can be visited but taking extreme precautions because if we are not a little prepared it can be dangerous (proper footwear, looking at the time of year to avoid unnecessary slips , suitable age, even a flashlight... those things that always have to be taken into account if we are going to explore these types of places)

The Cueva de El Juyo is located in a sinkhole developed in the upper part of Igollo (Camargo), which is accessed by a small track that ends in the cavity. The cave contains an impressive Lower Magdalenian site (between 16,500 and 14,000 years old) -one of the most outstanding in the Iberian Peninsula-, and was the scene of the excavations and research carried out by Joaquín González Echegaray together with Leslie Gordon Freeman -prehistorian and professor from the University of Chicago
