There are several points from where you can get to the refuge, in our case we went up by E-bike from Tijarafe. No electricity or water, but a good, clean cabin in the shade of a good pine forest. Take the ascent from there to almost Roque de los Cuchachos very calmly, the positive slope in a short distance is difficult to find. In our case it was the starting point of two of our E-Bike routes. From there and with easy access for vehicles and with free parking you have infinite possibilities to explore the island. The Refugio del Pilar is a well-known landmark on the island of La Palma, located in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park.
