This viewpoint not only offers views of the swamp, which after all can be observed from different points, but also has the Peña Utrero in the background, offering one more picture, even a postcard. La Peña Utrero receives its name from the town of Utrero, which was also partially destroyed with the construction of the reservoir.

Although this reservoir was officially renamed Juan Benet in 1994, after the death of the engineer in charge of its construction, it is still popularly known as the Porma reservoir or swamp, due to the river that supplies it, or even Vegamián, after one of the towns that were flooded after its construction.

The Porma reservoir is the third largest reservoir in the province of León, after Riaño, in Esla, and Bárcena in Sil. It was designed by the engineer and writer from Madrid, Juan Benet, and is located in the municipality of Boñar. In 1994, after the death of Juan Benet, the reservoir was renamed the Juan Benet reservoir, although popularly it continues to be known as the Porma reservoir, after the name of the river on which it is located.
