This part of the Homlastien provides exceptional views of the cascades. Although there's a fair bit of elevation gain on the run to Storfossen from Hommelvik, it's worth it for the natural beauty of the surroundings.

A majestic sight, Storfossen plummets some 130 feet (40m). This is one of Trøndelag's highest waterfalls and it's a superb objective for an adventurous run along the Homla.

An incredible and idyllic landscape

The waterfall is the easiest to reach, as there is a walkway to the foot of the Storefall, the thunderous sound of the 40 meter drop is deafening and a mega spectacle.

I think the two belong together, but 3 falls over 3 km, 👌🇳🇴 Awesome 🔨

To get to the rustic fall, there are 2 ways, one relatively relaxed and up the mountain along the hiking trail, the other behind the bridge along the rope on the rock, for adventurers 😅. We are rewarded with a mega natural spectacle.

From the Kringelmyra car park, the hike initially leads downhill through a forest of the Homla nature reserve that is densely overgrown with moss. There are resting and picnic benches just before the waterfall. A boardwalk leads the last few meters to the foot of Storfossen, one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in Trøndelag with a drop of 40 meters.

A little below the Storfossen there is a second, smaller waterfall: the Mettifossen
